We can help! As a Utah resident, did you know that Utah is a “shall
issue” state. In other words, law-abiding citizens who apply will not
be denied a CFP. Your Utah CFP permit, with certain restrictions, will allow you to carry a loaded, concealed firearm for the protection of yourself or others and is currently honored in 33 other states. (You can find a list of these states and more information about CFPs as well as applications at There are USRPA members who are approved by the NRA and the Utah Bureau of Criminal Investigation to certify your application under the current laws; that you are able to load, unload, carry and secure your firearm. They will also be able to guide you through the applicable laws. This certification is required for a Utah CFP. Another advantage of a CFP is that with a Utah CFP a Utah resident is not required to pay for a background check in order to purchase a firearm. Here is a list of USRPA members who are Approved CFP Instructors with their general locations and contact information: (If you will contact them by e-mail they can send you information about the procedure for schedules, requirements, cost, etc.) Ralph Schamel, Salt Lake County, 801-277-4016, ralphs@xmission.com Leonard Wojcik, Salt Lake County, 801-272-1813, Leonard@wojciktech.com INSTRUCTORS: To be listed here, please join the USRPA and email the USRPA Webmaster (webmaster@usrpa.org) with your information. |
